What We Do

From Blueshift Research Wiki

Instead of covering industries for investors, at Blueshift Research we’re part of them. Unlike analysts and Wall Street, we don’t read the news and press releases in the papers as they happen; we scope out trends and opportunities before they occur, and sometimes we’re part of their creation.

Culled from the corners of the country for their distinctive experience, our thinkers see clearer, further and faster. We love information -- primary, secondary -- in all its forms: the not-for-attribution tip, the blog in a foreign tongue, an obscure publication no one reads. We moderate niche forums. We employ bionic ears at convention coffee tables and launch parties. Everyone comes over to talk to us. Our phones ring at all hours, and we catalog particulars in our secret dossiers, gleaning them for patterns and insight.

We’re specialists at ignoring the obvious and the useless, to focus on the small, unique, valuable pieces. And when we have ideas, as we often do, we work to get them corroborated by other high-quality sources. The more corroboration we get, the greater your chances are of occurrence.

Blueshift believes in investigative market research. Our researchers are part investigative journalist, part trendsetter, part analyst. Above all, though, we’re naturals; we were doing this long before we were getting paid to.
